Reviews: This is the best hotel in Brisbane. It is in the downtown area, but faces the Botantical Gardens so it does not seem like it is in the city -- in some ways like 5th Avenue in NY. All rooms have a view of the gardens, and the rooms above the 7th floor (approximately - I was on the 8th floor and had a great view) can see the river and the cliffs of Kangaroo Point (that are lit up at night). It is an easy walk to the best shopping in Brisbane (Queens Plaza and the Myer Centre), to city offices, to QUT and to Southbank (just across the new Goodwill FootBridge). I strongly recommend visiting Southbank. Each room is really a small apartment (bigger than my apartment in NYC!). There is a large bedroom with a Queen bed, a small kitchen, a dining area, a living room and a huge balcony with great views. There is a good desk to work on, with a comfortable leather desk chair. Also a laundry room in the room! All the rooms have recently been refurbished. The pool is beautiful -- outdoors and heated with a large sun area & a hot tub. It is full service hotel -- with room service and maid service. The desk staff are very friendly. I think that there is a carpark on site too. It is not a large hotel and so is friendly -- 6 rooms on each floor, and about 60 rooms for hotel guests and about 60 rooms for long term guests. Highly recommended! ------------------------------- Excellent hotel, great location, brilliant staff. ronald holt, United Kingdom -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loved the location of this hotel, it's central but not right in the hustle and bustle of the town, with a fabulous view of the river and the botanic gardens. The shops are only a ten minute walk away at most and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms themselves are spacious with a separate kitchen and small lounge. There’s a good pool and small gym to work out in. There’s also great, secure parking right under the building that can be accessed day or night. The reception staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. The only thumbs down would be to the restaurant at breakfast time, the service was non-existent (but may be it was just a busy/off day for them). We're going back next week. --------------------------------- Nice, clean comfortable spacious rooms, good location, great balcony. |
